How can I find out the name/IP address of the AD domain controller on my network? I'm looking for a command line tool which gets an IP address and returns the host name, for Windows. I have scheduled backup script that makes the database dump.

The hostname is just the computer name and the fully qualified domain name is the hostname plus the domain name after it.... hostname: bigbox fqdn: bigbox.mynetwork.com or commonly the fqdn ends in .local instead of .com but that is environment specific.

I am confused between the user principal name (UPN) and SAM account name (SAM). Heres what i know SAM- Pre-windows name, for backward compatibility with Windows NT machines etc. DOMAIN/USERA, look... IIS7 finds the cert as available, but won't allow the entry of a host name. The host name textbox is ALWAYS disabled/greyed out, even before selecting my cert. I've even deleted the default port 80 binding.
